MINI - 3-Door Hatch Price: from £22,300 RRP
Last Updated On: 23/05/2024
The MINI 3-Door Hatch was the first model to appear under the new MINI brand in 2001. Since then the Hatch, together with the other models in the ever-expanding MINI range, has enjoyed extraordinary sales success in the UK and around the world. Apart from enjoying a strong reputation for innovation, fun, frugal engines and superb build quality over the years, the entire MINI range also benefits from high residual values. The latest MINI Hatch is the fifth generation model.
Even though the fifth generation MINI 3-Door Hatch is instantly recognisable – something which comes from having such a globally identifiable design – the car is completely new from the ground up. Every component has been back to the drawing board in an effort to optimise its function, performance and style. It is more spacious than before, safer, finished to an even higher standard and provides the driver with a more dynamic and performance-oriented experience behind the wheel.
The result is a MINI which is distinctly familiar but enhanced in every single way. It features significant improvements in technology, engine efficiency and power delivery, driving dynamics, quality and – of course – personalisation. Inside, the new MINI 3-Door Hatch is quieter than the outgoing model, with improvements to acoustic refinement inside the cabin.
Announced in February 2024, the new MINI Cooper arrives as the third member of the new MINI family, joining the MINI Cooper Electric and the new MINI Countryman. The latter two variants are currently not built in the UK. Available in two model variants: the MINI Cooper C and performance-enhanced MINI Cooper S, the latest three-door merges traditional brand values with innovative, future orientated technology.
The new MINI Cooper is available in three trims: Classic, Exclusive and Sport, with each trim offering an array of exterior and interior personalisation option. Inspired by the classic Mini, the MINI Cooper’s interior is minimalistic, with the entire cockpit focussed on just three elements: the new Vescin steering wheel, a 24cm circular OLED display and toggle bar.
The model’s exterior silhouette features clear surfaces, short overhangs and a compact bonnet which combined with a contrasting long wheelbase, achieves the typical MINI proportions. The front end is characterised by a new octagonal grille with filigree contour. Positioned either side are newly designed circular LED headlights.
With an increased output of 204 hp, the four-cylinder engine of the MINI Cooper S (combined fuel consumption: 6.7 - 6.1 litres/62 miles, combined CO2 emissions: 150 - 138 g/km according to WLTP) accelerates the vehicle from 0-62mph (100km/h) in just 6.6 seconds, with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. While the MINI Cooper C (combined fuel consumption: 6.5 - 5.9 litres/62 miles, combined CO2 emissions: 146 - 133 g/km according to WLTP) is equipped with a 156 hp, three-cylinder engine, which delivers a torque of 230 Nm and is capable of completing the 0-62 mph (100km/h) sprint in just 7.7 seconds. Adding to the overall driving experience, both models are equipped with a suspension and damping system designed for precise handing and powerful brakes.
